A Brief Profile of the College

Arya Post-Graduate College, a premier institute of higher education in Panipat, was established in 1954 and is run under the auspices of Arya Samaj Bara Bazar (Regd.) Panipat. It is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and duly aided and recognised by the Haryana Gover nment and U.G.C. The aim of the establishment of this college is to the develop the physical, mental and intellectual level of the students by blending modern higher education and traditional vedic education. This enables them to struggle and strive even in adverse circumstances. Now the college has grown into a pioneer, multi-faculty post-graduate co-educational institution of the state and is pursuing its ‘mission of excellence’ and quality education with great zeal. T his great institute of North India is blessed with visionary leadership of the management, qualified and dedicated staff, disciplined and talented students drawn from different socio-cultural background. During last fifty six years of its existence the college has produced great academicians, professionals like Doctors, Lawyers and Chartered Accountants, Administrators, Sports persons of National & International, Repute committed, Politicians, Social Activists etc. who are serving the nation in one or other form.

The ever increasing number of positions of merits in the university secured by our students and the distinctions won in the fields of sports, cultural and co-curricular activities are a living testimony of the progressive graph of the college accredited B++ by the NAAC and ISO 9001-2000 certification by KVQA. The college is progressing by leaps and bounds with untiring and continuous efforts of our able and dynamic President Sh. Ravinder Gupta, Vice President Sh. Megh Raj Arya, General Secretary Sh. Surinder Shingla and Treasurer Sh. Kulbhushan Arya. Many Leaders, Philosophers, Academicians such as Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sh. Morarji Desai, Sh. B.N. Chakarverti, Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Pandit, Sh. Ram Dhari Singh Dinkar, Sh. Jagmohan, Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda etc. have glorified the college with their presence on many occasions.

The college is situated opposite to Bus Stand on the G. T. Road, Panipat. Its magnificent building with architectural beauty and lush green campus can impress any intellectual. In addition to under Graduate Courses in Arts, Commerce and Science, the college is providing education in Post Graduate Courses in Economics, English and Commerce. Keeping in pace with the present times the College has introduced many job oriented courses approved by Govt. and KUK like BCA, BBA, BBI, Bio-technology, Fashion Designing, Psychology, BA(MC), BTM, etc. and is going to introduce PGDRLM & PGDEMM from this year. To make under-graduate degree more useful, Add- on certificate & Diploma courses approved by UGC in Export Management, Insurance Management, E-commerce, Retail Marketing, Computer Maintenance, Photography and Videography, Fashion Designing & Textile Designing are also offered.

Special attention is paid on the facilities provided to the students. There are separate common rooms for Boys and Girls, well equipped and ultra modern Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Bio-technology, Home Science, Electronics, Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Functional English and Computer Labs. The college has a rich and fully computerised library with DELNET having possession of more than fifty thousand books & journals with internet facility. The college has huge playground & multi gym with indoor and outdoor games facilities and A.C. well equipped Seminar & Conference Halls. Our college has an excellent career guidance and placement cell to help our students in getting jobs and to meet the demands of the competitive world. As a result, our students have been placed in the best of national and multinational companies. Presentations /Extension Lectures/Seminars/Industrial visits/Moral Education/Group Discussions etc. are an integral part of the curriculum. The concentrated endeavor of the college is not only to educate but also to inculcate a system of core values in the students which would keep their fundamental principles intact and provide them knowledge and power to sail through life.
